Biologist Turned Bioinformatician

I’m Fran, a biologist from the National University of Colombia, and actually a Msc. Student of Bioinformatics who found his passion where life meets data. My background in the natural sciences shapes the way I approach bioinformatics — always grounded in biology, but driven by the possibilities of code and technology. I study how life is encoded, expressed, and analyzed at scale.

Curious by Nature

Whether it's in a dataset or a forest trail, I’m constantly exploring. I love to travel, observe, and find patterns — in behavior, in data, in genomes. My fascination with how traits emerge, evolve, and are regulated feeds my drive to understand life from both a molecular and systems-level perspective.

Sharing What I Learn

Science shouldn’t be kept in a silo. I’m passionate about making knowledge accessible — through tutorials, tools, resources, or insights from my projects. I enjoy teaching, mentoring, and building things that help others understand the complexity (and beauty) of biology through data.

On the Edge of Discovery

From animal behavior to gene regulation, and from traveling the world to coding pipelines — I’m always seeking new challenges. I thrive at the intersection of curiosity and innovation, and I aim to stay on the cutting edge of tech and science to uncover the hidden layers of how life works.

I’m Always Open to New Ideas!

Got a cool project? A question? Or just want to talk tech? I’m all ears and ready to connect!
